What are the Droplets conferences?

The Droplets Conference Series brings together physicists, chemists, engineers, mathematicians, and materials scientists working on droplets in the broadest sense. Since its inception, the conference has provided a forum for discussing fundamental and applied aspects of droplet science, ranging from pure liquids to complex fluids, biological fluids, colloidal suspensions, polymers, and nanofluids. 

The conference covers droplets across a wide range of environments and applications: from impact to evaporation, from aerosols to emulsions, from surfaces to microfluidic systems, and from fundamental physics to industrial technologies. The series aims to foster interdisciplinary interactions between experimentalists, theoreticians, and engineers, while encouraging informal discussions and the exchange of new ideas. 

Originally established as a workshop series within the European droplet-science community, Droplets has evolved into an international conference attracting researchers from around the world. Over the years, the conference has become a leading forum for presenting advances in wetting, phase change, aerosols, sprays, microfluidics, complex fluids, and interfacial phenomena.

The 2027 Droplets Conference consists of three full-day conference talks, parallel sessions and presentations. A pre-conference school day with limited seating is held on June 29th, 2027. Please see the full programme for more information.
