Aalto Emission Free Pulping EFP team
The Emission Free Pulping program aims to boost wood material yield in pulping from 50% to 70%, while cutting biomass burning and emissions. With strong backing from the forest industry and public funding, 10 research organizations, universities, and companies have launched a €15 million, 5-year project, involving around 20 full-time researchers. Led by VTT and RISE, the program focuses on improving energy efficiency, reducing CO2 emissions, and minimizing water use in pulping processes to maximize resource efficiency and sustainability.
