French-Finnish ceramist and designer Nathalie Lautenbacher has worked at Aalto University as a lecturer in design since 2001. She teaches a variety of courses at the BA and MA levels, encouraging hands-on, material-inspired studio work. Her projects explore, for example, tabletop objects and larger ceramic surfaces, emphasizing an open, creative mindset alongside the material’s physical qualities and aesthetics.
Lautenbacher runs her own studio, focusing on small-scale production of tableware as well as unique ceramic artworks and installations. She actively presents her work through national and international projects and exhibitions.
