The aim of this study is to find out what could be improved in online lectures and what should be considered when planning an online course. Ten students from ten different Universities were interviewed, to find out what makes them engaged and motivated or vice versa during online courses. The interviews were conducted as semi-structured expert interviews. The thoughts of these students were compared to what was found in literature, to answer the research questions.
Marketing and communications are essential for projects to reach their stakeholders in order to raise awareness to get people interested and involved in the project. This research aims to provide insight on which communication channels and what content Aalto Online Learning should use to raise awareness of the project and increase involvement in it.

Podcasts have taken the world by storm in both entertainment and educational settings. This qualitative research compares results from students listening to a semi-educational podcast in three different contexts: at home sitting still, doing chores and walking outside. This research suggests that educators should clearly define the goals of their podcast materials and communicate these to the students. The nature of podcasts as a portable medium is not as important for students in an educational setting as in entertainment setting.
This research includes the study of Augmented Reality from a UX designer's point of view. We are investigating what design characteristics are essential and effective for the exploration of the Aalto campus with an Augmented Reality treasure hunt, especially for international students and visitors.
