How to get there?
Metro (station: Aalto-yliopisto, Aalto University)
From the city center you can come to the campus by metro. Aalto University metro station is 11 minutes from Kamppi station (city center Helsinki) or 13 minutes from Helsinki Railway Station. There are two exits from the Aalto University metro station. Use exit A pointing to Aalto University.
By bus and light rail
Otaniemi is easily accessible by bus and light rail line 15. The light rail runs every 6 minutes on weekdays, stopping at Aalto University metro station.
Public transportation tickets
- Single metro, light rail, tram or bus tickets can be bought in advance at the ticket machines or from the HSL mobile application. The same ticket is valid on buses, tram and the metro.

Airport connection
- Otaniemi is 22 km away from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
- Taxi fare is around 55 euros and travel time about 30 minutes. Bolt can be a more economical choice.
- Public transport from the airport takes about an hour: either the train or bus the Helsinki Central Railway station and metro to Aalto University, or the train to Huopalahti station and change to light rail line 15.
