Do you have questions that only an Aalto student can answer? Our Aalto Squad student ambassadors are ready to chat with you about their own experiences and all things Aalto! Meet your study community in field-specific events

Some of our schools and programmes host events where admitted students have the chance to meet with and ask questions from school and programme representatives such as programme heads, other staff members and current students. The students whose schools and programmes host events will receive direct invitations by email.

Finland Studies open online course (external link)

This course offers a starting point for learning about studying at Finnish universities. The course offers societal-, organisational-, and individual-level perspectives on Finnish student life as well as practical know-how for studying in Finland.

Finland Works open online course (external link)

In this course, we will look at how to navigate Finnish working life and how to build a career. We explore working life in Finland from societal, organisational and individual perspectives.

Want to learn Finnish?

The Survival Finnish Online course is a great way to get a taste of the Finnish language already before arriving to the country. The next opening for the course is on 3 May – 9 June, 2024, and the enrollment is open from25 March until 22 April, 2024.Sign up for Survival Finnish Online course by following these steps:

  1. Sign up for the Aalto OpenLearning platform. If you are a new user, create a user account by clicking “Create new account”. Go to the email you used for login and click the confirmation link.
  2. Enrol to the course on the course page.

Survival Finnish Online – Learn the fundamentals of Finnish (external link)

Learn to greet and introduce yourself! Learn numerals, food and shopping vocabulary, days of the week, times and other central expressions of time, work and university-related vocabulary, places and expressions of location.
