According to Homecoming Day, continuous learning will be expected from business school graduates in the future
Alumni populated the main building of the School of Business in Töölö for the last time.
The theme of the Homecoming Day 2018 was Brave New Work — future of the business school graduates. Keynote speech was given by Casper von Koskull, the President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Nordea Bank AB (publ).

In 2016, the theme of the day was Business and Society in 2020 and it was discussed from different perspectives with the School’s alumni, academic community and influential opinion leaders in the Finnish economy. In addition to the day seminar, alumni had the opportunity to continue enjoying the day at the dinner at Kalastajatorppa.

The first Homecoming Day for alumni started a new tradition at the Aalto University School of Business. The event brought 600 alumni and influential opinion leaders in Finnish economic life back to home campus for discussing and networking on 22 August 2014. The event was sold out.
The theme of the first Homecoming Day was Competitiveness, and it was discussed from different perspectives, i.e. from large and small companies’ as well as communities’ and individual’s point of view. The conversation was vivid also on Twitter.
The President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö gave a speech about national competitiveness in Leading the Way seminar. Among other things he drew attention to the need for responsible public sector management. Other influential speakers of the main seminar included The President and CEO of Metsä Group Kari Jordan, Professor Matti Pohjola, Professor Sixten Korkman, Slush conference Main Organizer Miki Kuusi, pension insurance company Varma CEO Risto Murto and Ellun Kanat CEO Kirsi Piha.

Homecoming Day is the biggest alumni event of the School of Business. The event offers inspiring discussions on current topics as well as a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends.
