The current geopolitical situation, related punitive restrictions, and export control regulations require research institutions to implement processes and checks to ensure responsible internationalization. At Aalto University, we are developing checkpoints for funding proposals and processes for externally funded projects to ensure that our research activities comply with international regulations. We will open this 60-minute workshop session with an overview of the compliance-related work we have conducted at Aalto- for proposals and projects. After that, we will ask some questions to the audience to collect best practices and ideas on how other institutions handle compliance in externally funded research. The workshop may not answer all aspects of this complicated topic, but we will hopefully share experiences and clarify some elements that will help organizations develop their services. The workshop will include consideration from the pre-award and post-award phases, both supported by legal knowledge, which is fundamental for this topic.

In this workshop, we examine the key amendments (3.3.2023/263) of the Finnish Copyright Act from the viewpoint of research and education. New exception allows use of works for the purpose of text and data mining, including for example the right to use works in machine learning projects. For research organisation's scientific research purposes, this exception cannot be reserved or limited by contractual or technical means, but the research organization has to have legal access to the works used for text and data mining. We will examine in particular how this new right applies to use in artificial intelligence projects. New exception allows the digital use of works and other subject matter for the purpose of illustration for teaching by university on its premises or through an electronic environment accessible only by the educational establishment's students and teaching staff. This exception applies when the extended collective license from Kopiosto is not available or other licenses are not easily available. It applies also to videos, for example YouTube videos. We will also discuss the new legislation related to agreements concerning copyright, when there is agreement transferring copyright ownership or exclusive right to use.

Finn-ARMA-tutkimusetiikka -verkosto
Tieteellisen tutkimuksen kansainvälinen toimintaympäristö on voimakkaassa muutoksessa ja eettiset kysymykset ovat nousseet kansainvälisesti aktiiviseen keskusteluun viime vuosina. On arvioitu, että kansainvälisyys ja kansainvälinen yhteistyö on jatkossa yliopistojen elinehto ja keskeinen menestystekijä. Myös Euroopan komission ohjaava ote korostaa eettisten kysymysten merkitystä esimerkiksi Horizon Europe -ohjelmankautta. Globaalissa toimintaympäristössä tutkijat kohtaavat uudenlaisia haasteita, ja eettisten kysymysten tunnistaminen ja hyvienkäytänteiden jakaminen suomalaisessa tutkimusorganisaatiokentässä on menestyvälle tutkimusyhteistyölle välttämätöntä. Tutkimusetiikan ja vastuullisen tutkimuksen näkökulmien tunnistaminen ja niiden huomioon ottaminen tässä kontekstissa edellyttää myös tukipalveluilta erityistä asiantuntemusta. Tässä työpajassa käsitellään yhdessä kuulijoiden kanssa kansainvälisen tutkimusyhteistyön eettisiä kysymyksiä ensisijaisena tavoitteena tunnistaa käsittelyä ja keskustelua edellyttäviä teemoja ja toiseksi muodostaa tiekarttaajatkotyöskentelylle. Tarkoituksena on esittää kysymyksiä, herättää keskustelua ja synnyttää ideoita, ei esitellä valmiita ratkaisuja.

In many cases, it may be quite complex to determine the roles under GDPR in research projects and collaborations. There are three major roles under GDPR: controllers, processors, and joint controllers. The roles may not be freely chosen by parties, the decision and interpretation of the roles should be made based on actual facts and setting of the processing. The roles of the various parties must be defined clearly before the start of the study, as depending on the roles, the parties have different legal obligations. The subject matter and goal of this workshop would be to discuss the roles under GDPR within the field of research, and aim to give some rules of thumb for deciding on the roles. The topic is relevant for all research institutions and universities in Finland.

University of Turku decided to support the preparation of the MSCA COFUND application that was coordinated by the Research Funding Unit. The nature of the COFUND application differs from the other framework programme applications; Itis a mono beneficiary application with interdisciplinary and intersectoral approach. The application is co-funded and requires large resources also from beneficiary. The evaluation and structure of the application emphasizes the recruitment of the researchers, services and practices of the beneficiary at the organizational level. The application was prepared in collaboration with researchers, Research funding Unit, University of Turku graduate School, HR, legal services, innovation services and financial services. The preparation of the application required extensive coordination since many areas of expertise were involved in the process. A core group was formed that shared the responsibility of the preparation of the application. The researchers had the scientific knowledge and excellence and they collected input from all researchers for the interdisciplinary and especially intersectoral approach. Research services coordinated and collected the required information of the recruitment process, doctoral training, budget, ethics, data management, IPR issues, communication and dissemination activities, work package descriptions, communication with the associated partners and several other services and practices that the university has. The core group met regularly, planned, coordinated, discussed and wrote the application together. The preparation of the application was a learning process for both the researchers and administrators and gave new insights to everyone and deepened the collaboration.

University of Eastern Finland (UEF) has currently two MSCA COFUND projects: one for doctoral candidates and another for postdoctoral researchers. The Neuro-Innovation PhD programme funds total of 14 doctoral positions in various departments at the University of Eastern Finland. It is a multidisciplinary program that is tackling neurogenerative diseases from various angles ranging from commercialization of treatment methods to early diagnosis tools. The collaboration between the units involved in the programme stems from the formation of research communities for university research evaluation. The YUFE4Postdocs program was developed within the YUFE alliance whose aim is to establish one of the first true European Universities. The YUFE4Postdocs is coordinated by the University of Antwerp, and it offers a total of 51 postdoctoral positions across the YUFE alliance universities. Seven of those positions are allocated to University of Eastern Finland. There is no pre-allocation of positions to different disciplines and positions are hosted by different departments. Based on the experience of the funded MSCA COFUND projects at UEF, it appears that successful proposals have a strong interdisciplinary focus as well as strong emphasis on fair and transparent recruitment methods of candidates. This is scientifically a fruitful approach, creates impact, and ensures fair treatment of applicants during the recruiting process. However, it also means that the recruited personnel are hosted by numerous departments and the recruitment processes are lengthy, which can create a heavy administrative burden. Therefore, we recommend that the administrative structure and recruiting are well planned already at the proposal stage. Detailed plan is a prerequisite for receiving funding and inflexible when implementing the project. It is also utmost important to clearly communicate to the units involved in the co-fund proposal that the grant does not completely cover the project cost.

In Åbo Akademi University, funding applications are checked and internally approved in Pure Award Management Module (AMM). The module allows for extensive re-use of data and automatic creation of relations between the different content types in the process. The selected data from the application can be automatically copied to the awarded project, and applications, funding decisions and projects are automatically linked together. The relations support reporting and displaying data in the public Pure portal. The workflows and application, award and project types in the module are configurable. Centralised management of roles and rights support confidentiality and secure processing of data. Sharing reports is easy because the pre-configured rights are automatically applied to reports.

Ulkopuolisen T&K-rahoituksen painoarvo korkeakouluissa on kasvanut entisestään vuonna 2021 voimaan tulleenrahoitusmallin (OKM) myötä, mikä on aiheuttanut kokonaisvaltaisia muutospaineita mm. rekrytoinnissa ja sisäistentukipalveluiden organisoinnissa. Lisääntynyt hankkeiden määrä on nostanut esiin erityisesti haasteen avainosaajien löytämisessä ja kiinnittämisessä hankkeisiin, joiden kesto, sisältö ja osaamisen profiili voivat vaihdella suuresti. Olemme omassa organisaatiossamme reagoineet haasteeseen tavoitteellisesti kartoittamalla keväällä 2023 TKI-hankkeidentoteutuksen aikaisia tukitarpeita. Kartoitus toteutettiin Webropol-kyselyllä sekä focusryhmäkeskusteluilla, joiden kohderyhmänä olivat TKI-hankkeissa työskentelevät projektipäälliköt ja koordinaattorit. Järjestämme Tutkimuspalvelupäivillä 2023 työpajan, jossa etsitään vastauksia mm. siihen, miten hankkeisiin liittyvää palvelukokonaisuutta tulisi hahmottaa ja miten hankkeissa toimivaa, entistä useammin uutta ja kokematonta hankehenkilöstöä voidaan sen kautta tukea? Työpajan tavoitteena on tarkastella hankkeen aikaista tukitarvetta ilmiöpohjaisesti. Ilmiöpohjaisuus mahdollistaa tarkastelunyleisesti korkeakoulusektorilla riippumatta siitä, miten yksittäisen korkeakoulun hanketoiminnot ja -palvelut on organisoitu. Työpajassa hyödynnetään tausta-aineistona organisaatiossamme tekemäämme kartoitusta, ja tarkastellaan ilmiöpohjaisestihankkeen aikaisen tuen tarvetta sekä hahmotetaan rajapintoja, joilla hanketoiminta kiinnittyy tutkimuksen ja opetuksenyksiköihin sekä hankevalmisteluun ja muihin tukipalveluihin. Työpajan tavoitteena on tuottaa osallistujille tietoa, joka auttaa tehostamaan hanketoimintaan liittyvän palvelukokonaisuuden järjestämistä. Tämä mahdollistaa osaltaan hanketoiminnanyhä tehokkaamman ja laadukkaamman tuotannon. Työpajan kohderyhmänä ovat korkeakoulujen toimijat, joilla on rooli hankkeissa valmistelijana, toteuttajana, vetäjänä tai sisällön, hallinnon tai rahoituksen asiantuntijana.

We have developed a system to support Aalto University’s internal administrative processes of externally funded research project proposals and projects on Sharepoint. As this system is coming to the end of its lifecycle, we are in the process of transferring the system, and developing it further on Salesforce platform. This presentation will discuss how to best facilitate and utilize collaboration within organization and with external stakeholders for a successful implementation of research management systems. In the world of externally funded research projects, the researchers and organizations are facing border constraints such as legislation, compliance issues, and funders’ requirements. These requirements seem to be ever-growing and more complex. Furthermore, organization strategy and internal rules and guidelines shall be followed. Organizations need supportive systems to comply with the demands of the subject matter, allow data-driven decision making, and transparency in risk management and internal processes. The objective is to build a dynamic service solution that enable external funding related cross-functional data-driven operations to strengthen our financial resilience. In short, we pursue easy-to-use system that supports service personnel, academics and leadership. To succeed in this task, cross-functional expertise and devoted collaboration is needed both in planning and building the system.

Data steward refers to a person working to advise researchers on performing good data management practices or on ensuring the quality of data assets. Given that institutional policies and research service organizations may differ, data stewardship may transpire differently in higher education institutions. Because of the differences in organizing these services, there is a lot we can learn from each other by sharing information about our current research data stewardship service initiatives. In this workshop, we will examine different ways for organizing data stewardship by introducing case studies from Finnish universities. The workshop also includes a sneak-peek of future plans to develop qualifying continuing education to train data stewards. The workshop is especially helpful for those whose organisations are in the process or planning to launch data stewardship services.

Avoimen tieteen vakiinnuttaminen yliopistoissa edellyttää syvällistä kulttuurinmuutosta, mutta miten strategisista tavoitteista luodaan silta tutkijan arkeen? Miten voidaan luoda yhteisesti jaettu näkemys kehityksen suunnasta, tarvittavista toimenpiteistä ja niiden keskinäisestä tärkeysjärjestyksestä? Miten roolit ja vastuut prosessissa jakautuvat? Helsingin yliopiston strategiassa tieteen avoimuus on yksi keskeisistä periaatteista. Strategiaa toteutetaan usein yksittäisten kehittämishankkeiden kautta, mutta kulttuurinmuutosta ei voi rakentaa pelkästään niiden varaan. Tarvitaan jatkuvaa yksiköiden rajat ylittävää työtä tavoitteiden saavuttamiseksi. Tarvitaan yhteisen työn koordinointia. Tarvitaan johtamista. Näistä lähtökohdista käynnistyi Helsingin yliopiston tutkimuspalveluissa 2021 valmistelu avoimen tieteen johtamisenkehittämiseksi. Työn tuloksena syntyi johtamismalli, jossa on jäsennetty yliopistossa eri tasoilla tapahtuvaa avoimen tieteenjohtamista, ja siihen sisältyviä tavoitteita ja vastuita. Johtamismallissa ei esitetä muutoksia yliopiston olemassa olevaan päätöksentekorakenteeseen. Mutta malli auttaa tunnistamaan ne kysymykset, joissa tarvitaan yhtenäisiä linjauksia ja käytäntöjä, ja ne kysymykset, jotka edellyttävät paikallisia eli akateemisten yksiköiden ja tieteenalakohtaisia ratkaisuja. Esittelemme johtamismallin pääpiirteet ja kerromme, miten mallin soveltaminen on käynnistynyt. Mallin keskeinen kehittämisehdotus oli yliopistotasoisen avoimen tieteen koordinaatioryhmän perustaminen. Ryhmässä tulisi olla edustusakateemisista yksiköistä, tutkimuksen johdosta sekä keskeisistä avoimen tieteen palveluista. Koordinaatioryhmä aloitti toimintansa loppuvuodesta 2022: esittelemme ryhmän toimintaa sekä sitä, millaisia kysymyksiä kuluneen puolen vuodenaikana on noussut.

Tutkimustietojärjestelmät (RIMS - Research Information Management Systems) ovat työkaluja tutkimustiedon hallintaan, tallennukseen ja integrointiin. Tutkimustuotosten keräämisen lisäksi avoimen tieteen edistäminen ja tutkijoiden arviointi ovat järjestelmien keskeisiä tehtäviä. Tutkimustietojärjestelmät mahdollistavat tutkimusorganisaatioille ajantasaisen ja kattavan alustan tutkimuksen näkyvyyden ja vaikuttavuuden lisäämiseksi sekä tutkimusprosessien tehostamiseksi. Järjestelmät sisältävät tietoja tutkijoista ja tutkimustoiminnasta, kattaen koko tutkimuksen elinkaaren. Pure-tutkimustietojärjestelmä on yksi esimerkki järjestelmästä, joka tarjoaa monipuolisia toimintoja ja integraatioita eritietolähteisiin. Tässä esityksessä tarkastellaan Pure-järjestelmän toiminnallisuuta ja työkaluja, joiden avulla voidaan hallita ja tukea avointa julkaisemista ja datan hallintaa sekä mahdollistaa tutkimuksen arviointia eri näkökulmista. Jotta tutkimustietojärjestelmiä voidaan hyödyntää maksimaalisesti, on varmistettava tietojen laatu, yhtenäisyys ja yhteen toimivuus sekä järjestelmän käyttöönottoon ja ylläpitoon liittyvät resurssit ja osaaminen.

Most of the research information Universities have tends to come from publications, which often mean a considerable lag between the research itself and getting research information. Same holds true for published research data. More timely and richer research information could be gained from data management planning and data privacy processes, if tools used would deal with machine-actionable, structured data. In University of Jyväskylä we have already developed a research data section to our CRIS (Converis) and are in process of developing machine-actionable, dynamic data management planning tool with automated workflows. This development is aimed to both simplify the process for researchers and improve its quality – and in addition, it will provide vast collection of up-to-date research information for university. DMP tool is part of wider collection of tools for researchers that aim to use this information to provide this information to different processes and forms when needed, thus eliminating researchers’ need to repeat this information time after time again. Of important note is that our tools aim to reach all researchers, not just those who are both willing and able to publish their data. With proper data management tools and support the proportion of published data can be increased, but it is important to remember to serve whole community – of which published datasets present only the tip of the iceberg. We have also developed different assessment tools to assess impact our researchers are having on the science and wider society. Also these widen classical definition of research information.
My presentation will showcase how
a) the scope of research information gathering should be widened,
b) it is possible with our own tools,
c) they can make researchers’ lives easier,
d) we can facilitate publishing research data with automations and targeted support and
e) our researchers' impact on world can be assessed in new ways.

MyResearch service to promote responsible research and open science The University of Helsinki is creating the MyResearch service to promote responsible research and open science. The idea for the one-stop-service grew from the development needs of services for responsible processing of data in research and for demonstrating this, especially with regards to Data Protection legislation. The areas of research data management and responsible science are in constant change and there is a need to provide tools and services for researchers to handle all the obligations that arise. Also research services need to develop and streamline their services and support. The documentation and information collected in the MyResearch service enable the University to do quality and risk management work more proactively. The plan in the first phases is to collect the documentation relating to research data in a project: data management plans, data protection impact assessments, privacy notices for scientific research and the participant information sheet and consent form template as well as permits from authorities in the same service. In the next phases, the process for ethical review is planned to be included. In the future, more researchers’ service processes could be included in the service and researchers could start the planning of a research project in the service. At the Research Days we present the MyResearch project and the results thus far to open a discussion with the RMA community on how other universities have handled the rapid development of research data management and responsible science, not least, in relation to our common objectives for open science. We think that this discussion would be rewarding for everyone.

Lapin yliopiston hallitus päätti 9.2.2022 käynnistää koko yliopiston kattavan tutkimuksen arviointiprosessin, joka toteutetaan2022-2023. Arvioinnin tavoitteena oli tuottaa kokonaiskuva yliopiston tutkimuksen sisällöstä ja laadusta, vaikuttavuudesta, sekä vahvuuksista ja kehittämiskohteista. Arviointiprosessin toteutusta on koordinoinut allekirjoittaneista muodostunut koordinaatiotiimi. Arvioinnin lähtökohtana oli “peer review informed by metrics and narrative”. Arvioinnin suoritti kuudesta hengestä koostunut kansainvälinen ulkopuolinen paneeli Lapin yliopistossa tehtävän tutkimuksen eri aloilta. Vastuullisen arvioinnin kansallisia ja kansainvälisiä ohjeistuksia noudattaen arviointi perustui 14 arviointiyksikön kirjoittamiin itsearviointiraportteihin ja niihin liittyviin taustamateriaaleihin. Arviointiyksiköt muodostettiin yhteistyössä tutkimusyhteisön kanssa siten, että tutkijat saivat itse valita, millaisille yksiköille halusivat kehittävää palautetta panelisteilta. Yksiköiden koot vaihtelivat yksittäisistä tutkimusryhmistä olemassa oleviin hallinnollisiin kokonaisuuksiin kuten Arktiseen keskukseen. Lisäksi jotkut yksiköt muodostettiin vain tätä arviointia varten, toiset olivat toimineet jo pidempään. Tämä johti siihen, että yksiköt olivat rakenteeltaan hyvin erilaisia, ja laatukin ymmärrettiin hyvin vaihtelevasti. Tässä esitelmässä tarkastelemme sitä, miten eri tavoin laatu voidaan ymmärtää ja esittää, ja miten laadun määrittelemistä voisi jatkossa ohjeistaa paremmin. Koska RAE 2022-23 oli ensimmäinen kokonaisvaltainen arviointi Lapin yliopistossa, ohjeistuksen tarve oli ilmeinen, ja tarkoituksemme on kehittää ohjeistusta tulevaisuutta varten sillä perusteella, mitä tästä prosessista opimme.

Suomen yliopistolain mukaan yliopistojen tulee järjestää toimintansa siten, että tutkimuksessa varmistetaan korkeakansainvälinen taso eettisiä periaatteita ja hyvää tieteellistä käytäntöä noudattaen. Yliopistojen tulee arvioida koulutustaan, tutkimustaan sekä taiteellista toimintaansa ja niiden vaikuttavuutta. Yliopistojen on myös osallistuttava ulkopuoliseentoimintansa ja laatujärjestelmiensä arviointiin säännöllisesti. Yliopistojen tulee julkistaa järjestämiensä arviointien tulokset. Jokainen yliopisto voi itse valita omat arvioinnin toteuttamisen tavat. Suomalaisissa yliopistoissa arviointikäytänteet ovat olleet jokseenkin samantyyppisiä, mutta erojakin löytyy. Viime aikoina Suomessa useimmat yliopistot ovat noudattaneet kehittävän arvioinnin mallia ja tutkimuksen arvioinnin hyviä käytäntöjä on jaettu epävirallisesti. Vertaisverkoston avulla saamme kaikille tutkimuksen arvioinnin kentällä ja toteutuksessa toimiville arvokasta tietoa arviointiprojektien sudenkuopista mutta etenkin parhaista käytänteistä ja kokemuksista. Tässä workshopissa esitellään aluksi lyhyesti kolmen erilaisen yliopiston - Oulun yliopiston, Taideyliopiston ja Vaasan yliopiston – edellisen arvioinnin peruslähtökohdat ja asetelmat tutkimuksen kokonaisarvioinnin eri vaiheiden kautta. Workshopin pienryhmätyöskentelyssä osallistujat pääsevät pohtimaan ja jakamaan omia parhaita käytänteitään arvioinninsuunnittelun, toteutuksen ja seurannan vaiheiden kautta. Näkökulmana on arvioinnin vaiheiden / prosessin toteuttaminen ja koordinointi sujuvasti. Tulokset koostetaan yhteen ja jaetaan Tutkimuspalvelupäivien jälkeen kirjallisesti osallistujille sekä valtakunnallisentutkimuksen arvioinnin verkoston kautta.

The research conducted at the University of Helsinki was assessed in 2018-2019 with enhancement-led approach. The aim of the assessment was to produce an overview of the quality and impact of the research conducted at the University, to assist in identifying future research opportunities and to support the renewal of research. The assessment supports the University’s 2021–2030 strategy implementation and covers all research carried out at the University. A follow-up of the research assessment took place in 2022-2023 as a mid-term evaluation checkpoint, focusing on the development steps taken by the Faculties and independent institutes. The follow-up consisted of 15 Faculty level qualitative self-assessment reports (6-10 pages each) focusing on : 1) Key take-aways from RAUH 2018–19 , 2) Key development steps and action taken based on the results , and 3) Alignment with the current UH strategic plan . All self-assessments were compiled and shared openly across the units. Emphasis was on the quality of operations, and metric data only as a background, not the target of the assessment itself. The self-assessments were delivered to the Panel Chair's who wrote their feedback on the progress. A joint discussion seminar for the unit leadership, RMA and other interested services and university community was organised on 29 March 2023. The Panel Chairs were invited to dialogue with the units. The enhancement-led approach to research assessment is well aligned with current developments with responsible research and researcher assessment (e.g. CoARA). Thanks to the qualitative approach we can see how we are progressing with ways of managing and leading research as well as gain rich understanding of the development work and its meaning for the units. The results of the follow-up show a variety of concrete development steps stemming from the RAUH 2018–19 feedback and development with impact. The quality of operations ensures the quality of results, too.

Research assessment is currently under reform (e.g., CoARA). There has been criticism towards the over-emphasis of specific metrics and quantitative approaches in assessment at the expense of qualitative assessment based on the content of research. There are also articulated needs to recognise the diversification of academic careers and contributions in academic work. Universities and other research-performing organisations need tools they can apply when assessing applications in recruitment processes and funding competitions, for example. In the presentation, we present the so-called YUFERING portfolio, which has been developed in a joint project of a European university alliance YUFE. The portfolio represents a researcher-driven narrative CV, which is expected to be backed up with evidence (data). The portfolio aims at helping universities in the alliance to diversify researcher assessment to acknowledge the researchers’ contributions and merits not only in research, but also in teaching and supervision, community-engagement and societal interaction, teamwork, leadership, and management. The emphasis in the portfolio is on the content and possible impact of one’s work, motivations and vision for one’s career, individual skills of the researcher, and his/her possible contributions in Open Science. The narrative considers the diversified academic careers (e.g., research-oriented and teaching-oriented positions) and multiple types of outputs. The portfolio has been inspired by declarations on responsible research assessment, existing examples of career matrices and indicator frameworks, and interviews at YUFE universities (administrators and researchers). As such, it aims at providing a holistic view of researchers’ expertise and contributions. With the presentation we hope to provoke a discussion on alternative or supplementary approaches to assessment, including discussion on the possible experiences and downsides attached to them.

Open Science (OS) is valued in academic environments, but the actual adoption of OS practices lags behind. While some practices, such as OA publishing, have reached levels of adoption that allow them to be viewed as the standard way of producing scientific knowledge, others are not close to being mainstream. One of the main barriers on the way to a wider adoption of OS practices is the academic culture itself. A shift towards a culture more favorable of OS is an interplay between multiple factors, including provision of necessary and easy-to-use infrastructure to make the OS practices feasible in the first place, normalization of OS practices, introduction of incentives for researchers to adopt OS practices, and imposition of policies to further consolidate their application. In order to cocreate an Open Science ecosystem, we need a roadmap: what services need to be in place for the ecosystem to work and what actors are to take the responsibility for providing these services. Now, Finnish Open Science and Research (OScaR) Coordination is using the enterprise architecture method for developing such a roadmap, and for instance, for identifying the essential business capabilities and services required by the open science ecosystem. The aim of the workshop is to assess the effectiveness of the OScaR architecture, when applied in individual research performing organisations (RPO). After an introduction to the details of the architecture, the participants are involved in reviewing the architecture from two viewpoints. In the first part of the workshop, focus is especially on the services and processes required by responsible research assessment, which is one part of the architecture. In the second part, the participants consider the question how the full architecture should be implemented by the RPOs and whether the architecture is compatible with the existing practices in research administration and management.

In this interactive facilitated workshop we will design a support process of your dreams for Horizon Europe pillar II (Research and/or Innovation Actions RIA/IA) coordinators. In small groups we will discuss good practices, tools and share tips & tricks to develop your process to effectively match the expectations of the researchers with the resources you have. It is also important to discuss and share experiences on how to set boundaries in the support process in order not to exhaust yourself. With this workshop we hope to offer an opportunity for valuable peer support and enable networking with people in similar support positions in different institutions.

External competitive funding is increasingly important for universities and research organisations. Researchers are encouraged to broaden the scope of funding sources and apply funding from different funding instruments. Each funder has its own rules, but importantly also the inherent logic, and even the terminology used varies between instruments. To make a successful application, it is crucial for the applicant to understand the specific requirements and logic embedded in the instrument. However, for an applicant that is used to of applying funding through a certain instrument, it might be difficult to get acquainted with the logic of a new instrument, hampering the chances of producing a winning proposal. We argue that there is a need to understand and communicate the differences in logic and terminology of different funding instruments in a systematic way. This is essential not only for the researchers - i.e. applicants themselves - but also for the support staff helping in proposal preparation. In this workshop, we will present our preliminary mapping of the key differences between collaborative proposals’ logic for Academy of Finland (AoF) and Strategic Research Council (SRC)applications on the one hand, and Horizon Europe (HE) applications on the other hand (with focus on Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) and Innovation Actions (IA)). We welcome workshop participants that are supporting researchers with applications to some or all of the above listed instruments. The aims of the workshop are (1) to discuss participants’ views and experiences on the different logic of the applications, and (2) to co-create a concrete listing of key differences in logic and terminology between the main AoF, SRC and HERIA/IA collaborative instruments. Such listing would serve as a useful tool not only for applicants that are newcomers to a specific funding instrument, but also for the research support staff in Preaward teams in different organisations.

Jyväskylän yliopistonprojektipäällikköpalvelut on tavannut vuoden 2022 aikana eri yliopistojen post-award palvelujen henkilöstöä. Työpajassa alustetaan tapaamisissa esiin nousseita teemoja ja yhteistyötarpeita. Keskustellaan eri yliopistojen projektipäällikkö- tai vastaavien palveluiden käytänteistä, kuten post-award tiimien työnkuvista ja työnimikkeistä tiimeissä sekä budjetoidun työnosuudesta eri hankkeissa. Jyväskylän yliopiston tapaamisissa nousi esille tarve omalle post-award verkostolle. Työpajan päätteeksi keskustellaan osallistujien kiinnostuksesta tällaisen verkoston perustamiseen ja pohditaan, millaista sen toiminta voisi olla. Verkosto voisi toteutuessaan esimerkiksi syventää eri yliopistojen toteutusvaiheen palvelujen yhteistyötä ja mahdollistaa nykyistä paremmin hyvien käytäntöjen jakamista.

Turku University of Applied Sciences Project Management Office (PMO) offers versatile project support services for the entire lifespan of the project. Turku UAS PMO’s Project experts support researchers in idea-phase, finding suitable funder, in the preparation, in the implementation and in evaluation and closing activities. This presentation will elaborate the Turku UAS Post-award services, how they are organized in practice with several examples. Post-award services are an investment to better quality project portfolio and to a smoother project execution. The service must be considered already in the preparation phase and a post-award person role budgeted and justified in the application. Having an admin expert involved in the implementation phase has a direct correlation with better risk management and more effective utilization of the project resources. Turku UAS PMO follows PM2 Project Management Methodology in planning and implementing projects where applicable. The post-award work follows recommendations outlined in PM2. The post-award experts work in projects as Administrative Project Managers (Admin PM) alongside the researcher, i.e., content leader. Admin PM is responsible of all administrative tasks while the content leader can focus on doing the content work with partners. Admin PM’s primary tasks include compiling and preparing all reporting, narrative and financial, keeping content leader up to date of the project overall situation, document management and cooperation with funders representatives. The Admin PM and content leader have a default division of all tasks and responsibilities, which they can modify as needed.

Digital preservation refers to the reliable preservation of digital information. The goal in digital preservation is that the information it contains remains accessible and usable to users over a long period of time, which means several decades or even centuries. The Finnish national digital preservation repository, funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture and produced by CSC ‒IT Center for Science, provides digital preservation. The concept includes two national services: (1) The Digital Preservation Service for Research Data preserves data from the research sector, represented by universities and other research institutes, and (2) the Digital Preservation Service for Cultural Heritage preserves digital assets from the cultural heritage sector, represented by archives, libraries and museums. Both of these services together are in this presentation referred toas Digital Preservation Services. The technical solution behind the services is common for both research data and cultural heritage data. Environmental sustainability is becoming an important factor in digital preservation. We have calculated the carbon footprint of the Digital Preservation Services. We concentrate on the carbon footprint of manufacturing hardware and shipping the equipment to data centers, and the carbon footprint of the hardware service life and employees related to the services. Using data provided to us by the hardware manufacturers and other sources, we show that the majority of the emissions come from manufacturing and shipping of hardware, whereas the emissions created during the service life has a smaller role. The annual carbon footprint of the services as a whole is smaller than the annual carbon footprint of three average Finns. By using a national, common technical solution for preserving both research data and cultural heritage data, we can provide reliable digital preservation with environmental sustainability in mind.

The Horizon Pillar 2 lump sum funding model is designed to simplify project financial reporting, but it creates a host of new challenges at the Pre-Awards stage. From creating new requirements in terms of designing the project structure to adding complexity in terms of proposal coordination, writing successful proposals under the lump sum funding model requires new approaches and strategies for supporting researchers in the writing process. This session aims to bring together experience and knowledge from Finnish Pre-Awards teams to understand how we can adapt our proposal writing strategies to help our researchers create winning proposals. The session will be led by four members of the Aalto Pre-Awards team (two Research Liaison Officers and two Grant Writers) who have been involved in preparing Horizon lump sum proposals. It will include very short presentations from Aalto Pre-Awards on tools and strategies that they have found useful in preparing these proposals, followed by a moderated audience discussion to learn about the experiences of funding experts throughout Finland. Through this process of knowledge sharing, we hope to develop best practices for writing proposals under this new and challenging funding model.

Palveluportaali Aila on ollut Tietoarkiston lippulaiva vuodesta 2014. Uudistamme Ailaa parhaillaan. Mitä Ailalle kuuluu tänään? Millainen Aila on tulevaisuudessa? Entä kuinka FAIR Tietoarkisto on nyt? Näihin kysymyksiin vastataan esityksessä. Keväällä 2023 Ailassa on yli 1800 tutkimusaineistoa ja lähes 5000 rekisteröitynyttä asiakasta. Ailasta on sen avaamisenjälkeen ladattu yli 30 500 aineistoa. Ailassa voit vapaasti selata, hakea ja lukea Tietoarkistoon tallennettujen sähköisten tutkimusaineistojen, datojen, monipuolisia kuvailutietoja suomeksi ja englanniksi. Toisin kuin monet muut datakatalogit, Aila mahdollistaa haun myös kysymys- ja muuttujatasolla. Ailasta on myös pääsy CESSDAn aineistoluetteloon. Varsinaiset analyyseissä tarvittavat datatiedostot ovat rekisteröityneiden asiakkaiden saatavilla käyttöehtojen mukaisesti. Ailassa on myös koko ajan kasvava joukko vapaasti käytettäviä datoja (CC BY 4.0). Ailassa tutkijat voivat siirtää tutkimusaineistojaan Tietoarkistoon pitkäaikaissäilytettäviksi ja jatkokäyttöä varten, kun asiasta on sovittu ennalta. Itsearkistoinnista ei kuitenkaan ole kyse. Tietoarkiston asiakaspalvelu tarkistaa saadun materiaalin ja arvioi arkistointikelpoisuuden sekä prosessoi ja kuvailee (DDI) datan Tietoarkiston käytäntöjen mukaan. Tietoarkiston aineistokuvailut löytyvät myös Tiedejatutkimus.fi -palvelusta, Etsimestä ja Finnasta. Aila on osa European Open Science Cloudia. Parhaillaan käynnissä olevassa Suomen Akatemian rahoittamassa Rajoja ylittävät työkalut ja palvelut (C-BOTS) -projektissa uudistamme Ailan. Parannamme tutkijoiden ja heidän organisaatioidensa näkyvyyttä, automatisoimme aineistojen käytön raportointia ja tehostamme hakutoimintoja.

Aalto University is implementing a repository system for digital preservation, asset management and showcasing of all digital content of long-term value. The aim is to ensure authenticity and usability of the diverse digital outcomes of our university, across time and technical environments. As for today, there has not been systematic processes or a repository system capable of preserving and showcasing digital content in variety formats. Our pre-Aalto Repository environment is able to handle documents and images for long term preservation. Besides these Aalto University produces variety of different formats of media that have been out of our technical reach when it comes to long term preservation, access and reuse. Especially vulnerable is the process of preserving and showcasing creative and practice-based learning and research. There has been no proper publicly available option for long term preservation of creative research outputs - the closest so far for artistic research has been the Research Catalogue. Aalto Repository will create capabilities to manage and make use of the university's valuable digital assets. To improve the collection and curation of digital content we will need to develop also the workflows and processes that produce the original data, e.g. current submission processes for theses, showcasing artistic works and research outputs. Our aim is to build a seamless workflow between storage and access so that all members of Aalto community should be able to submit media and data for preservation, showcase and future access. Through integrations the repository will be the back-bone for the persistent accessibility, online visibility and showcase of creative and practice-based learning and research. The processes are developed in alignment with the OAIS Reference Model which sets the core standard and activities for digital preservation, and aims to build compatible workflows to deposit valuable media and data content to the CSC-PAS.

The UEF research impact website was created by using service design with the goal to understand and identify user needs and to improve the service experience. Design thinking refers to the use of design methods in problem solving and involves a solution-focused and participatory approach. The first task was to understand service design methods in practice and how to merge them with traditional research environment. Our training consisted of three three-hour sessions blended with three interactive sparring sessions with exercises and homework in between. The grand finale was the conceptualisation of our new Impact website. As part of the process, research funding coordinators from four faculties conducted 23 interviews with researchers to define the profile of their customers. We learned that almost all research fields struggle with the notion of social impact. Researchers feel at loss with the different impact requirements of research funders and do not know how to measure impact. They need our assistance almost all the way, but do not know who to turn to for help. The workshops and the creation of the Impact website brought us, as UEF administration, together. Collaboration stretches beyond pre-award and post-award research services, including communication and media relations, entrepreneurship and innovation services, performance management and quality, as well as library and digital services. The “Impact in research and development projects” site in the UEF intranet now has three sections: 1) information on the funders’ requirements for impact in different funding instruments and tips for the applicants, 2) an impact planning template and 3) services that support maximising impact in the implementation phase. In the next phase, feedback will be collected from researchers on the available guidance. A section on measuring impact will be added. Based on the interviews, advice on building and maintaining business cooperation and citizen engagement will also be needed.

Suomessa on rakenteilla uusi tutkimuksen datan hallinnan viitearkkitehtuuri korkeakoulujen ja tutkimuslaitostenyhteistyössä. Tavoitteena on tukea TKI-toiminnan ja sen datan hallinnan vaikuttavuutta muodostamalla yhteinen tavoitetilankuvaus ohjaamaan tarvittavien toimintojen ja palveluiden kehitystä. Tutkimuksen digitalisaation ja dataintensiivisen tutkimuksen lisääntyminen edellyttää laadukkaita ja yhteentoimivia palveluita paikallisella, kansallisella ja kansainvälisellä tasolla. Tutkimuksen datan hallinnan viitearkkitehtuurin kuvaaminen edistää osaltaan tätä vahvistamalla tutkimusinfrastruktuuri-investointien vaikuttavuutta, tutkimuksen palveluiden käyttäjälähtöisyyttä ja yhteistyötä tutkimusdatan hyödyntämisessä sekä kansallisella että europpalaisella tasolla. Tutkimuksen datan hallinnan viitearkkitehtuuri (DAHA) tulee muodostamaan Tieteellisen laskennan viitearkkitehtuurin (TiLa) kanssa eheän kokonaisuuden ohjaamaan kansallista tutkimuksen digitaalista transformaatiota. Arkkitehtuurikokonaisuutta täydentää myös 2024 valmistuva Avoimen tieteen ja tutkimuksen viitearkkitehtuuri (AVOTT). Työpajassa tarkastellaan arkkitehtuurityön lähtökohtia sekä tunnistetaan tutkimushallinnon ja tutkimuksen tukipalveluidennäkökulmasta tarvittavia paikallisia, kansallisia ja kansainvälisiä palveluita. Työtä ohjaavat Tieteellisen laskennan ja datanhallinnan yhteistyöfoorumin asiantuntijat ja fasilitaattorit. Työpaja sopii kaikille datanhallinnasta kiinnostuneille. Osallistuminen ei edellytä arkkitehtuurimenetelmän osaamista.

Tietoja haetaan ja kootaan työläästi monista eri tietolähteistä. Katsausten ja taustatietojen tuottaminen onnistuu helpomminkin. Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriön tarjoama palvelu, tiedejatutkimus.fi, yhdistää ja jakaa tietoa Suomessa tehtävästä tutkimuksesta. Sen tietolähteinä ovat suomalaiset tutkimusorganisaatiot ja -rahoittajat sekä kansainvälisiä tahoja. Interaktiivinen esitelmämme näyttää osallistujille, mitä kaikkea tietoa tiedejatutkimus.fi -palvelu sisältää, millaisia visualisointeja siellä tällä hetkellä voi tehdä ja opastaa niiden tekemisessä. Haluamme myös kuulla millaisia kuvaajia ja tilastoja tiedejatutkimus.fi-palvelussa olisi hyvä olla valmiina.

Ammattikorkeakoulujen tutkimus, kehitys- ja innovointi (TKI) -rahoituksen kasvun myötä TKI-henkilöstön määrä on kasvanut. On tunnistettu tarve kehittää TKI-työtä tekeville urapolku. Tässä esityksessä kuvataan Laurea-ammattikorkeakoulun TKI-asiantuntija urapolkua, jota on rakennettu jo olemassa olevan tutkijaurapolun rinnalle. TKI-asiantuntijapolun avulla on pyritty yhdenmukaistamaan tehtävän sisältöä kuvaavat nimikkeet, palkkaus sekä varmistamaan projektien johtamisen ammattimaisuus ja korkea laatu. Tällä hetkellä Laureassa työskentelee TKI-asiantuntijoita 15 eri tehtävänimikkeellä. Yhteensä Laureassa on n. 80 työntekijää, jotka tekevät pääosin TKI-työtä. Uuden urapolun avulla on myös haluttu kuvata TKI-henkilöstön uranäkymiä ja lisätä työn kannustavuutta ja houkuttelevuutta. Urapolussa on määritelty neljä eri tasoa projektityöntekijästä johtavaan asiantuntijaan. TKI-asiantuntijanurapolku kannustaa laajojen kokonaisuuksien haltuunottoon, projektipäällikön tehtävässä pätevöitymiseen ja osaamisenkehittämiseen. Tavoitteena on kannustaa henkilöstöä jatkotutkinnon suorittamiseen ja akateemiseen meritoitumiseen Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) sopimuksen mukaisesti. Urapolun taustalle on laadittu kriteerit palkan määräytymisestä. Esimerkiksi projektipäällikön rooli ja pedagogiset opinnot voivat kasvattaa kokonaispalkkaa. Muita kriteerejä ovat mm. johdettavien projektin koko, osaamisen taso, ulkoisenrahoituksen hakukokemus ja julkaisuhistoria. TKI-asiantuntijan urapolku otetaan käyttöön kaikissa uusissa TKI-henkilöstöntehtävissä ja nykyisten TKI-henkilöiden niiden osalta, jotka haluavat olla mukana.

We RMAs work in complex surroundings involving academic and administrative colleagues, university strategies, faculty implementation plans, funding instruments, budgetary restrictions, legal considerations, rules of procedure, etc. An important part of professional development is not only acquiring various technical skills but also gaining a deeper understanding of crucial social, normative, and institutional aspects of our work environment. The plan of this talk is to introduce some relevant concepts from contemporary recognition theory, and to show how these relate to the RMA profession, helping to both deepen and widen our understanding of the domain. The improved comprehension can have theoretical, practical, and problem-solving potential for the day-to-day work of RMAs, and thus contribute to professional development in the field. In contemporary recognition theory, recognition is understood as a social relation having to do with grantings, acceptings, and contestings of various normative statuses. As such, recognition is a wide-ranging phenomenon having psychological, social, institutional, political, and economic relevance. This presentation focuses on (i) respect, (ii) esteem, and (iii) positive emotional attachment to particular individuals as the three central dimensions of recognition. With an improved understanding of the fundamentality of recognition and a clearer comprehension of its contrasting demands, RMAs are better equipped to deal with various situations, tensions and possible problems encountered in their daily work.

International staff exchange is a great possibility for gaining new ideas, building networks and promoting good practices, which are vital parts of an agile organisation. However, staff exchange also takes time and resources in planning and executing, and there is no ready programme template to copy. This session provides an example of how to construct a programme when receiving a staff exchange guest and how can the host and the guest best benefit from the experience. The session is based on experiences from a recent staff exchange, in which Project coordination services and Research funding services at the University of Helsinki joined forces and welcomed Erasmus staff mobility guests for a week. The session includes first a presentation, which introduces the different elements of the programme we had (e.g., discussion sessions, job shadowing) as well as the feedback from the guests and members of the hosting institution. Then, a discussion about experiences of staff exchange will follow. The session aims to provide a basic understanding of the challenges and possibilities of international staff exchange and to facilitate the planning of future staff mobility.

Tutkimuspalveluiden asiantuntijatyössä painottuu yhä useammin tehtävät, joissa vaaditaan erilaisia yhteiskehittämisentaitoja. Strateginen kehittäminen haastaa asiantuntijat ihmisten yhteistoiminnan fasilitoijiksi sen sijaan, että annettaisiin suoria vastauksia tai neuvoja. Strategisen kehittämisen tehtävissä valmiita vastauksia ei yleensä ole, vaan niiden tulisi syntyä laajan ja moninäkökulmaisen yhteistyön tuloksena. Työpajan tarkoituksena on tutustuttaa asiantuntijoita coachingiin eli valmentavaan vuorovaikutukseen ja sparrauksensaloihin. Työpajassa pääset perehtymään koulutetun coachin ohjauksessa coachingin viitekehykseen, joka koostuu neljästä vaiheesta: tietoisuus, vastuunotto, toiminta ja itseohjautuvuus. Työpajassa reflektoidaan elävän elämän esimerkkitapaustenavulla, miten kehittämishankkeen tai -prosessin voisi rakentaa ja toteuttaa valmentavalla otteella ja mitä se tarkoittaa asiantuntijan roolin ja asemoitumisen kannalta. Esimerkkitapaukset valitaan osallistujien omien tilanteiden ja vetäjienehdotusten pohjalta eli työpajaan voi osallistua oman tapauksen kanssa tai ilman.

Uuden CERV-rahoitusohjelman (Kansalaisuus, tasa-arvo, perusoikeudet ja arvot) keskeinen tavoite on suojella ja edistää Euroopan unionin arvoja ja oikeuksia. Rahoitusohjelmasta tukea voivat hakea mm. kansalaisjärjestöt, viranomaiset sekä oppi- ja tutkimuslaitokset. Rahoitusohjelman budjetti ohjelmakaudelle 2021-27 on 1,6 miljardia euroa.
Suomalaisten hankehakemusten hyväksymisosuus on ollut keskimäärin huikeat 44 %, joten ohjelmasta on hyvät mahdollisuudet saada rahoitusta. Hankkeiden omarahoitusosuus on tyypillisesti vain 10 %, ja joissain rahoitushauissa edellytetään ainoastaan, että koko hanketta ei kateta EU-avustuksilla.

Could we develop and facilitate more effective research projects through adding diversity dimensions? Can we as RMAs make an impact in fostering various aspects of diversity? These questions have recently been raised and discussed in workshops at two international conferences for RMAs, EARMA and INORMS. In this presentation we will summarize the learnings from these workshops and share them with the Finnish RMA community. Join the discussion for pursuing a positive change in research and innovation by considering diversity dimensions! The EC requires a Gender Equality Plan for organisations seeking to participate in the Horizon Europe program. However, diversity is much more than gender balance. Dimensions such as cultural and geographical background, language, ethnicity, age, sex, race, and level of education are also part of diversity. By including these and more dimensions into the structure of a research group, a consortium, a project design and lifecycle, we can foster a more creative, innovative, and multidimensional approach to research and its impact. Working with a group of diverse research stakeholders is fun and fruitful but can be challenging. To function well, the whole group must agree on common rules and ways of working, build trust, use agreed means of communication and more. The PI must also use a way of leadership where inclusion and equality are combined with successful diversity management. This means a change of work culture, and entails improving skills in cultural intelligence. In this presentation, we will discuss the holistic effects and impacts, as well as benefits and challenges, of diversity dimensions in research. Further, we will jointly elaborate on RMA’s role in the context. We base our discussion on the learnings from workshops at EARMA and INORMS. Participants in this session will be invited to reflect their views on how to support researchers in considering diversity dimensions in their daily work.

The project “Development and strengthening of RDI collaboration in the Uusimaa region” promotes RDI knowledge increasing European funding in the region. The project is executed by 3AMK – a strategic alliance of the three biggest UAS’s in the capital region: Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia. 3AMK has funding expertise on a wide spectrum together with multidimensional knowhow. The project comprises three inter-connected work packages: 1. Development of coverage and EU influence of RDI activities and actors of Uusimaa 2. Development of EU funding know-how of actors of Uusimaa 3. Mapping project interests and ideas, connecting them with Horizon Europe funding calls and conducting proposal preparation based on these. UnderWP2, five RDI-themed MOOC’s (massive open online courses) have been produced.

The subjects and contents of the MOOC’s cover more or less all aspects of RDI activities. Each course is separate –however the contents being interconnected – and worth 1 credit equaling 27 hours of studying. The MOOC’s have been designed co-creatively with valuable digital pedagogical expertise to reach high quality standards. Characteristically, the courses are open and tailed for a wide target group – basically for everyone interested in RDI according to principles of continuous learning. The courses provide up-to-date information presented visually and through concrete examples to make learning pleasant and appealing. As a result, awareness and know-how of RDI increase regionally and nationally as well as internationally furthermore, which sets the scene for establishment: systematic activities producing innovations, business, export, and jobs. Also, the impact manifests as successful and increased yield of highly competed European RDI funding.

Isot kansainväliset ja kansalliset muutokset kuten avoimen tieteen edistäminen, tietosuojalainsäädännön tiukentuminen ja ulkopuolisen rahoituksen kasvava tarve luovat tutkijoille paineita omaksua uusia tietoja ja taitoja. Osa tutkijoista kokee uudet toimintatavat ylimääräisenä byrokratiana tai jopa tutkimuksen tekemisen esteenä, vaikka kyse on uuden tieteellisentoimintakulttuurin luomisesta, johon osallistumalla tutkijat voivat varmistaa, että toiminta kehittyy tutkimuksen ehdoilla ja akateeminen vapaus säilyy. Nopeassa muutoksessa päävastuu muutosten jalkauttamisesta on tutkimuksen tukipalveluilla, mikä luo isoja paineita tukipalveluille ja niiden organisonnille. Tässä esitelmässä pohdimme sitä, kuinka me tutkimuspalveluiden asiantuntijat pystymme parhaiten tukemaan tutkijoita uuden toimintakulttuurin luomisessa. Meillä ei ole valmiita vastauksia, vaan kutsumme tukipalveluissa työskenteleviä erialueiden asiantuntijoita pohtimaan ratkaisuja kanssamme. Yksi Tampereen yliopistossa hyväksi havaittu käytäntö on ollut tutkimusedellytykset-tiimi, jonka tutkimusasiantuntijat on sijoitettu tiedekuntiin organisoimaan tutkijoiden tukea. Kolmen vuoden toiminnan perusteella on osoittautunut tärkeäksi, että yhtäältä tuki on lähellä tutkijaa ja toisaalta tutkimusasiantuntijoilla on tiiviit yhteydet muihin tukipalveluihin. Fasplat on uudenlainen digitaalinen työkalu, jonka avulla mahdollistat hankkeiden avoimen, anonyymin ideointiprosessin.
Työkalun avulla eri sidosryhmät voivat antaa panoksensa ja vaikuttaa hankkeiden suunnitteluun varhaisessa vaiheessa ja näin ollen helpottaa hankehakemustyötä. Osallistaminen edistää sidosryhmien omistajuutta hankkeisiin ja parantaa hankkeiden tuloksellisuutta ja hyväksyttävyyttä.
Fasplatin työkalut tarjoavat tehokkaita työskentelymenetelmiä, kuten aivoriihi- ja ideointityökalun, jotka auttavat hankkeiden ideoiden kirkastamisessa ja kehittämisessä. Digitaalinen työkalu helpottaa ideoiden keräämistä, tallentamista ja jakamista sekä edistää yhteistyötä eri sidosryhmien välillä.
Puheenvuorossa kerromme miten:
Yhä useampi hanke toteutetaan laajan sidosryhmän kanssa joko kansallisesti tai kansainvälisesti, sillä yhteiskehittämisellä saavutetaan parempia tuloksia. Fasplatin yhteistyöalustan kautta osallistuminen tapahtuu aikataulu riippumattomasti ja mahdollistaa ketterämmän työskentelyn.
Puheenvuoron jälkeen sinulla on käsitys, miten Fasplatin avulla ideoita voidaan paremmin dokumentoida ja seuranta. Kuulet myös, miten työkalun automaattinen analysointi nopeuttaa päätöksentekoprosessia sekä osallistaa ja sitouttaa sidosryhmiä laajemmin. Ecosystem development has become a concrete part of innovation activities in universities. Universities, companies and other actors together renew not only their own operations but also entire industries. In this workshop, we will discuss university ecosystem cooperation and research platform models based on two examples and the national and European framework. Participants in the workshop are asked to highlight examples of ecosystem development in their own universities and their experiences related to them, as well as the organizational models of universities.
