‘I have recently been interested in the opportunities afforded by synthetic biology. This swiftly developing field highlights not only amazing possibilities but also ethical dilemmas. It is also important to stop and think about what kind of world we want to live in. One of the key tasks of designers is to visualise things and possibilities that do not yet exist. By creating a form for some technological innovation, we also give better possibilities for discussion concerning the innovation among the public or between researchers.’
