Student Guide

Master's Programme in International Design Business Management

Recommended timetable

It is highly recommended to complete IDBM major studies during the first year of master's studies, except for the Advanced Topics in IDBM (or Research Assignment for IDBM SCI students) which is designed to help you with thesis and therefore recommended for the 2nd year. In addition to the major studies, you're expected to complete studies in your field (minor) and elective studies. You're expected to complete approximately 60 cr of studies during the first academic year.

During the second academic year you're expected to complete the Advanced Topics in IDBM (or Research Assignment for IDBM SCI students), the rest of the studies in your field (minor) and elective studies, and a master's thesis. Exchange studies are usually included as electives and should be completed during the second academic year. Please note, that if you are planning to do an exchange semester, you need to plan your studies well in advance.

To complete the degree in 2 years, it is recommended to spread the courses to each of the 5 periods evenly. This would mean about 12 credits per period, but depending on your choices some periods may be heavier, some lighter.

You can schedule your studies in Sisu, see Sisu's basic functions.
