It is highly recommended to complete IDBM major studies (40 cr) during the first year of master's studies. In addition to the major studies, you're expected to complete some of the specialisation/ minor or elective studies. You're expected to complete minimum of 55 cr during the first academic year.

During the second academic year you're expected to complete the rest of specialisation/minor and elective studies, and a master's thesis. Study exchange is usually included as electives and should be completed during the second academic year.
