The Master's Programme in Animation is organized by the School of Arts, Design and Architecture. The programme is coordinated jointly by the Department of Film, Television and Production Design and the Department of Media.

Apply to a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Confluences: Interdisciplinary visions for water in cities"

Apply for Aalto University's "Confluences: Interdisciplinary Visions for Water in Cities," a 3 ECTS course held in Espoo and online. This program invites students from UNITE! QUORUM universities to collaboratively explore urban water challenges. Applications are open until January 26, 2026.

Animation, Master of Arts (Art and Design)

Animation major explores both the theory and practice of this most imaginative and joyous form of art. The programme is the first of its kind in Finland, and students will become part of a wide network in the Finnish and international animation community.

Tuition fees

Tuition fee for tuition-fee students in this programme:

  • Study right started on or before 1 August 2024: 15,000 EUR / academic year
  • Study right started on or after 1 August 2025: 20,000 EUR / academic year
