Suvi Holmstedt
I am a university lecturer in organic chemistry. My research focuses on natural product synthesis, circular economy approaches, and the use of biomass as a renewable resource for developing new reactions and synthetic methodologies. I also have expertise in cosmetic chemistry. In my teaching, I am responsible for courses in organic and general chemistry and I supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses.
I am fascinated by the endless possibilities that chemistry offers for developing new applications. I also enjoy the experimental nature of chemistry. Chemistry is a practical and creative discipline that allows me to work with my hands while exploring new ideas. I am particularly inspired by natural products and the molecular diversity created by nature, which inspires research in synthetic organic chemistry. My academic interests also include university pedagogy and laboratory safety.
