Description

I am currently working as a Professor of Practice of Design driven fibre innovation (2018-2020). I have worked at the University since 2008, and I have been facilitating interdisciplinary CHEMARTS collaboration between the School of Arts, Design and Architecture (ARTS) and the School of Chemical Engineering (CHEM) since 2011. CHEMARTS is aiming to inspire students and researchers to explore biomaterials together, and to create new concepts for the future use of plant-based materials. We have several ongoing research projects on bio-based materials, where we explore design driven technology development processes in materials research, and create future oriented concepts, applications and business seeds for the more sustainable world of materials. Before my career in academia, I worked eighteen years for Scandinavian textile industry, and gained experience also as an entrepreneur and consultant for creative industries.
