Denis Zhidkikh

Hi! I work as a University Lecturer, teaching courses such as Y2 and Programming Languages.

My research interests revolve around introductory programming and computing education research (CER) in general. In pursuit of understanding those who try to learn programming, I utilize an expressive panoply of methods. Process mining, predictive learning analytics, and content and thematic analysis are but some of the approaches I actively use. I aim for an inductive and data-driven approach in my research.

My past work was related specifically to the self-regulation skills of programming students. Currently, I am more broadly interested in the academic and social integration of first-year CS students and student support through holistic, course-integrated counseling.

Have a question or just coffee and chat? You can find me at Tietotekniikkatalo, room A141.
