Arno Solin
Arno Solin is an Assistant Professor at Aalto University, specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning with a focus on uncertainty quantification, robustness, and scalable inference. His research has been widely recognized, with over 70 peer-reviewed publications in top-tier venues in machine learning, earning multiple Best Paper Awards. Professor Solin is an ELLIS Scholar in the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems, the pan-European AI network of excellence.
In addition to his research, Professor Solin is actively involved in teaching and academic leadership. He developed and teaches the popular 'Introduction to Artificial Intelligence' course at Aalto University. He has been recognized for his teaching excellence with several awards, including the 'Teacher of the Year' in his department. Beyond the classroom, he plays a key role in shaping the future of AI education in Finland as the Director of the Finnish Doctoral Program Network in Artificial Intelligence (AI-DOC) and through his involvement with the Finnish Center for AI (FCAI).
