Temporary pedestrian crossing replaces the underpass during the construction work

The Otaniemi underpass and its stairs will be demolished to improve passage and accessibility. It will be replaced with a more accessible pedestrian and cycling connection. Demolition work will begin before Christmas, and a temporary pedestrian crossing has been taken into use for the duration of the construction work.

Temporary pedestrian crossing over Otakaari

A temporary pedestrian crossing has been constructed near Teknologföreningen (TF, Täffä) for the duration of the construction work. The crossing serves both pedestrians and cyclists, ensuring safe mobility in the area. Access to the fenced-off construction site is strictly prohibited.

Traffic arrangements will remain mainly unchanged throughout the winter, and vehicular traffic will continue to be directed by traffic lights. Pedestrian and cycling conditions have temporarily changed due to the construction site. Always follow the marked routes and instructions provided at the site. Routes may change as the work progresses, so it is important to carefully follow the signage provided at the construction site. The work is progressing on schedule, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
