Refining the plan
After many design variations, we mocked up a full scale layout of Kide's plan.
Kide will have limited space on site, so we spent considerable time developing different options for the stage layout. Some key aspects that were taken into account included:
- Relation to site and space to comfortably manoeuvre both for pedestrians, event technicians and snow clearing equipment
- Cover by canopy for weather protection
- Accessibility for all users via steps and ramp
- Space available for different types of performance and required equipment
- Aesthetics, relation between stage and canopy structure: aligned or contrasting
- Seating options for use by market visitors when no events are taking place

In order to get a feeling of the size of the stage and to test if the dimensions were sensible for the intended use, we made a 1:1 mockup of the stage plan with tape and cargo straps.
