OP Financial Group Research Foundation supports economic research and annually awards grants. The Foundation's recognition award in 2026 was given to Professor of Ownership at the School of Business, Samuli Knüpfer.

The recognition award of 20,000 euros is conferred to individuals who have already demonstrated exceptional creativity as a researcher and who can be expected to achieve significant results also in the future.

‘I am very honoured by this award. Right now, Finnish family businesses are foremost in my mind, and the results of the extensive research I have conducted on them will be published next week,’ says Samuli Knüpfer.

The award has usually been conferred once every two years. In 2024, the award was given to Kristiina Huttunen, Professor of Economics at the School of Business.

Recognitions were distributed at OP Financial Group Research Foundation theme day on 27 January 2026, where the topic was the age of artificial intelligence.
