New Sisu features for cross-institutional studies at Aalto
Cross-institutional study refers to student opportunities to complete studies at a Finnish higher education institution other than their home institution. Such studies may be taken based on the student’s right to study at their home institution and on agreements between the institutions.
Registration for the studies takes place according to the institution’s own student information system, which at Aalto is Sisu.
Some Aalto courses that are part of the three-institution collaborative network will begin limited use of Sisu’s cross-institutional features during Period III. Registration for the studies applies to only a small portion of the Aalto student body. The contact persons for the networks can provide further details. The institutions participating in the networks are the following:
- Helsinki Graduate School of Economics (Helsinki GSE), University of Helsinki, Hanken School of Economics, and Aalto University. The Aalto University contacts are Jenni Rytkönen and Elina Yrjänäinen.
- The School of Chemical Engineering (CHEM) agreement on study cooperation between Aalto University and the University of Helsinki. Aalto contact person: Kati Sumu.
- GISwap – the School of Engineering (ENG) geoinformatics network for teaching cooperation between Aalto University and University of Helsinki. Aalto contact persons: Päivi Kauppinen and Elisa Murto.
Cross-institutional study advising and a presentation of the courses offered will be developed in early spring.
