Kristiina Kruus has been invited as an honorary member of the Chemistry Guild
At its annual meeting, the Chemistry Guild invited Kristiina Kruus, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering, to become an honorary member. Honorary membership is for life and may be granted to a person who has made a special contribution to the guild’s activities or otherwise significantly advanced its goals.
As Dean, Kristiina Kruus has actively supported the guild’s activities, promoted cooperation between students and the school, and supported students in many ways. Her long-standing connection to the guild dates back to her own student days, when she served as the guild’s hostess in 1981.
The history of the Chemistry Guild dates to 1891, making it the oldest of Aalto University’s guilds. The guild organizes meetings, parties, and study and recreational trips, and offers its members a wide variety of events centered around sports, culture, and socializing. Excursions and the initiation of new students also play an important role.
