Jukka Luoma appointed as Assistant Professor in strategic management

Dr. Jukka Luoma has been appointed as Assistant Professor (tenure track, 2nd term) at Aalto University School of Science, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management. The area of Luoma’s professorship is strategic management.
Jukka Luoma’s professorship in strategic management contributes to the department-wide focus on the creation on and transformation of technology-based business. To complement the existing faculty competencies and to strengthen the key areas of the department, the department particularly welcomes Jukka Luoma with his research interest and expertise in the use of data analytics and quantitative methods in strategic management and decision making.
Jukka Luoma holds a doctoral degree from Aalto University, School of Business. His dissertation was accepted in 2013. Jukka has received numerous awards for his work, including the Teaching Developer of the Year in 2016 and Best Paper Award of Strategic Management in the European Academy of Management Meeting 2014.
Jukka has successfully published his work in top-tier management and operations research journals. A large part of his work focuses on competitive dynamics as well as on data-driven decision making both at the individual and the firm level. Jukka is passionate about teaching, and interested in innovative teaching methods that support interactive and experiential learning.
