International students’ feedback on studies and life at Aalto collected in November

Aalto is taking part in an international survey called International Student Barometer, ISB.

The ISB is an online survey targeted to international students in higher education institutions. The survey is conducted approximately every two to three years. This is the third time Aalto is taking part in this survey.

The previous ISB was conducted in autumn 2014. That time over 200 universities in 18 countries took part in the survey and over 165 000 student responded to the questionnaire. National results from the 2014 round can be found here.

The survey aims to provide information on student's study experience and their satisfaction in the application process, arrival, learning experience, support services, accommodation and living in the host country. The ISB is produced and run by I-graduate. All bar one Finnish universities and universities of applied science are taking part in this survey for the 2017 round.

An invitation to take part in the survey will be sent through email to international students on 10 November 2017. This includes both degree-seeking and exchange students registered at Aalto, a total of more than 3000 students. Degree student include both bachelor's and master's level students as well as doctoral students. The survey closes 1 December 2017.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Planning Officer Pauliina Savola ([email protected]).

Milja Mieskolainen: The Schuman internship at the European Parliament exceeded my expectations

Milja Mieskolainen, a Master's student in Accounting at the Aalto University School of Business, had already considered applying for an internship in the European Union, but thought it would be too challenging to get an internship. In spring 2023, however, she noticed an advertisement for internships and decided to give it a try, as there was an interesting vacancy in the Economic governance and EMU Scrutiny Unit. Applying did not prove difficult either. Milja applied, got the job and started her internship at the European Parliament in October.
