’The telecommunications, ICT and online service company Elisa sees collaboration with educational institutions as an important way of keeping in contact with young people who are about to enter working life. Our branch of industry is constantly changing, and we truly appreciate fresh ideas and views. We want to ensure that young people are aware of the versatile opportunities the ICT field can offer’, says Merja Ranta-aho, Executive Vice President, HR from Elisa.

Elisa collaborates with several educational institutions across Finland. In the Helsinki metropolitan area, the company now works with Aalto University and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. Elisa and Aalto University have also worked together in the past, but the new contract will extend the partnership. The extended collaboration will begin this month.

’It is great to have Elisa among our partners’, says Anne Salonvaara from the School of Business.

’Developing the company employer brand, contributing to teaching, carrying out research collaboration, for instance in connection with student projects, and acting as a visiting lecturer are all examples of potential forms of collaboration enabled by our Partnership Programme’, Salonvaara explains.

’When we were selecting our partnership institutions, we took into account their course offering. Both Aalto University and Haaga-Helia also have a functional partnership model that will ensure a flying start for our collaboration’, says Ranta-aho.

’Elisa is a well-known consumer brand and service provider, but we want to make students more aware of the company as a potential employer. We can offer young people extremely versatile positions, and in our industry students will be able to contribute to creating the services of the future’, Ranta-aho adds.
