Dean Ingmar Björkman received the prestigious Educator of the Year Award

The award granted by the Academy of International Business was handed out at the Academy’s yearly congress in Copenhagen.

The Academy of International Business (AIB) granted the School of Business Dean Ingmar Björkman the prestigious Educator of the Year Award at the Academy’s yearly congress in Copenhagen on June 25, 2019. AIB is the leading association of scholars in the field of international business.

The International Educator of the Year Award recognizes deans as well as other educational administrators and leaders that have created and/or grown outstanding international business programs, recruited, supported and rewarded IB faculty members for their contributions to teaching and research, and/or provided students with special experiences through courses, internships and study-abroad offerings. 

Award for the Best Doctoral Dissertation Proposal to Tuuli Hakkarainen

AIB also granted the Award for the Best Doctoral Dissertation Proposal in the field of international business for Doctoral Candidate Tuuli Hakkarainen. The title of the thesis is ‘Sharing expertise across geographical and cognitive boundaries’, and Provost Kristiina Mäkelä supervises the work.

In the motivation for the award, Tuuli Hakkarainen’s doctoral thesis was praised for its novelty, rigor and relevance with potential for important contribution to international business research.
