Assistant professor Chris Brzuska was elected as the Computer Science teacher of the year 2021. Brzuska is praised by students for his inspiring teaching and genuine interest in students and their learning success. His excitement for teaching and the subject itself is very visible and rubs off on the students too. His online classes are engaging, entertaining, and packed with information. He is finding all possible ways to accommodate students from different backgrounds.

Picks from the course feedback of CS-E4340 Cryptography:

The lectures were great. Maybe even one of the best among all the course I've attended so far.

I have to put strong emphasis of how impressed I am with the dedication and commitment of Chris in this course, he truly went beyond the requirements and crushed my expectations on how teachers at a university can care about their students.

The teacher award has been granted since 2007. This year, a total of 28 proposals were received and 15 teachers nominated for the award. The teacher of the year receives a certificate of honour and a reward of 1000 euros.
