Apply for a scholarship for summer studies abroad (ELEC)

The scholarships can be awarded to a total of four students, with each scholarship amounting to €300-500, depending on the cost of the summer school. The scholarship can cover travel and/or participation costs for the summer school.

The scholarships will be awarded primarily to summer schools organised by the School of Electrical Engineering's partner universities. Scholarships may also be awarded for other summer schools. 

The same principles apply to the scholarship applicant as to the student exchange scholarship: the applicant must have a minimum grade point average of 2.00 and have completed 30 credits (or at least one full semester of attendance for those directly selected for the Master's degree). If necessary, applications will be ranked according to the study index. After the summer course, students who have been awarded a scholarship must return an exchange report and a course certificate.

Application form:

- A free-form letter of motivation with your contact details
- Programme and estimated total cost of the summer course
- Letter of acceptance from the host university (can also be submitted later) 

Please send your application and attachments in pdf format to [email protected] with the subject line "Summer course grant application" by 31 May 2024 at the latest. You can apply even if you have not yet received confirmation from the host university. However, the scholarship will only be paid after you have also submitted a letter of acceptance from the summer university. Students who have been awarded a scholarship are still asked to fill in the online application form.

The credits completed in the summer school must be included in the Aalto degree, so it is advisable to provisionally approve the course in the HOPS before the summer school.
