Aalto University has adopted a living strategy for a world in motion. The University reviews its strategy and the School of Electrical Engineering its strategic plan continuously according to the annual clock for management actions and Plan, Do Check, Act -cycle.

In the strategic plan we set goals and plan our activities for the following four years. We agree on the targets at the university level in the University Targets and Joint Plan. Each member of our community contributes to the execution of the plan with their work and duties. In the University Review we assess the activities of the past year and evaluate reaching of the set goals. In the University Dialogue we plan how to improve our activities and functions. The Management Team of the School of Electrical Engineering steers this process.

The aim of Aalto University is to continuously improve the quality of all operations and to implement common best practices in the organisation. The quality system of Aalto University is an entity of policies, procedures and processes aimed at safeguarding and improving the quality of the university activities, its education, its research and other activities and it is embedded in university governance.  At the university and school level the strategic plans and their annual reviewing, evaluations like research assessment, teaching evaluation and assessments of support functions form the most visible part of the quality system. However, quality and continuous improvement are embedded in all our processes and daily activities and concern each member of Aalto community.
