Kordelin Foundation grants 2026

The Kordelin Foundation’s personal science grants will be open for application from 15 to 31 August 2026

The grants support long-term, goal-oriented work and aim to address societal challenges. In total, the Foundation will award €3.5 million in grants for science, arts, and public education in the August call.

Grants for Early-Career Postdoctoral Researchers

Grants are awarded to recent PhD graduates and post-doctoral researchers at the early stages of their career, at most two years after finishing their doctoral degree. The purpose of the grants is to support the career paths of early-career postdoctoral researchers and enable their professional advancement. The applicant can, for instance, pursue co-operation with different businesses or research groups, or the grant can be awarded for starting up their own operation in an innovation incubator, for example. We fund work that has societal, scientific, educational, or commercial development potential.

A personal working grant is intended for private individuals for full-time, continuous work for a specific time span. The grant is €45,000 and is intended to cover 12 to 18 months of work, including expenses. The Foundation offers flexibility in combining the grant with paid employment: recipients may receive a full (100%) working grant while working up to 50% in paid employment.
