Training for teachers: Challenge Based Learning for Sustainable Development Goals

Unite! Teaching and Learning offers 12 pedagogical training sessions for Aalto University teachers including PhDs and post-docs with teaching responsibility. Challenge Based Learning for Sustainable Development Goals takes place on October 13 and 20 and will be held online. It includes 14 hours of team work and self-study activities.

Unite! Teaching and Learning is a series of training activities aimed at teaching staff, lecturers and faculty in all Unite! partner institutions (including Ph.D. students and postdocs involved with teaching), who are interested in sharing and developing teaching and learning practices. We invite you to meet Unite! colleagues while learning how teaching and learning is promoted at different partner universities.

  • Wednesday, Oct 13, 2021, 9.30-12.30 am CET and
  • Wednesday, Oct 20, 2021, 9.30-12.30 am CET

+ self-study activities starting Oct 6 and ending Oct 27, 2021

Learning outcomes

  • Be familiarized with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), their learning objectives and understand the need to embed them into higher education

  • Know how to apply Challenge Based Learning to address SDG related challenges

  • Apply creativity tools and techniques in solution-oriented processes

  • Facilitate collaborative tools among students

Course materials will be available through Unite! Metacampus. You will first need to register as a user before you get access to the materials. 

The activities – webinars, courses and training events – are run by pedagogical experts from the partner universities and are free of charge for the Unite! community. All “Unite! Teaching and Learning” activities are in English. Some of the activities will award credits.
