Welcome

It is my great pleasure to announce the 4th EECAT (International Symposium on Catalytic Science and Technology in Sustainable Energy and Environment).  This time the event will be organized in two stages- in Finland on the campus of Aalto University, and with a cruise on the Baltic Sea.

We plan to start the symposium in Aalto University on the afternoon of May 31st, 2020, with a plenary session. We will continue on June 1st, 2020 all day with parallel keynote and invited sessions on energy and environmental catalysis, respectively. Following that  we will hold parallel oral and keynote presentations during the cruise, a round trip from Helsinki to Stockholm on June 2-4, (see Fig.1). The beautiful city of Stockholm offers great opportunities for sight-seeing by bus, boat or on foot. We will close the symposium at approximately 12.30 on June 4th, 2020,  when our ship returns to Helsinki. Both on the campus and at sea, we will also organize poster sessions.  Please take a look at the tentative program.

The EECAT 1-3 was successfully organized in Tianjin, China, in 2014, 2016 and 2018, and the latter was combined with ICEC 10.  Each time, we invited the most active and productive colleagues in these two closely interacting fields of catalytic technology. With the contribution of the participants, we edited seven special issues of leading international journals, including  Catalysis Today and International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, among those, five have been already published and two are coming soon.

I cordially welcome you to join us in the 4th EECAT and offer you an opportunity to communicate your newest breakthroughs in research on energy or environmental catalytic science and technologies.  We look forward to showing you some of the beauty of Finland and the Baltic Sea, as well as extending our warmest Finnish hospitality.

Sincerely

Yongdan Li

Topics

Topics for the parallel sessions and abstract submission:

  1. Catalysis and advanced fuel
  2. Catalysis for hydrogen, ammonia and other chemicals
  3. Catalysis for biofuels and bio to chemicals
  4. Catalysis in advanced power supply and combustion
  5. Catalysis in advanced automobile after treatment technologies
  6. Catalysis in clean water technologies
  7. Catalysis and adsorption in NOx, SOx, mercury and dioxin removal
  8. Catalysis in solar to chemicals

Submission of abstracts and participation to the workshop are welcome for all the colleagues in catalysis over the world. Nevertheless, a submission can only be considered as a poster submission, if it cannot be catalogued into the eight topics of the workshop.

Publication of the full papers in special issues

Two special issues of Catalysis Today will be compiled based on the contributions.
