Slush side event: Peace & Entrepreneurship

An official Slush 2019 side event organised by Aalto University Entrepreneurship platform and UN Technology Innovation Labs (UNTIL)
Peace and Entrepreneurship event

Some of the most fragile contexts also have the world’s highest rates of youth unemployment. This lack of economic opportunity is often cited as a catalyst for the growth of insecurity and instability.

Yet one well known solution to counter discontent among youth in fragile contexts is economic opportunity. We know entrepreneurship creates jobs, and we also know employed people promote more stable societies. But how can we support new businesses in fragile environments? How can entrepreneurship education assist in creating a positive change?

Join us at Slush to explore these questions. The event is hosted by the Aalto University Entrepreneurship Platform in collaboration with UN Technology Innovation Labs (UNTIL). The discussion will be led by enablers of entrepreneurship in fragile contexts who will share their thoughts on what works, what doesn’t, and why support for entrepreneurship in fragile contexts is more important than ever.
