For teachers: Serious Game Design

Unite! Teaching and Learning offers 14 pedagogical trainings taking place online in the spring 2022 for Aalto University teachers including PhDs and post-docs with teaching responsibility. The methodology of this workshop will guide you through serious game design.

Unite! Teaching and Learning is a series of training activities aimed at teaching staff, lecturers and faculty in all Unite! partner institutions, who are interested in sharing and developing teaching and learning practices. We invite you to meet Unite! colleagues while learning how teaching and learning is promoted at different partner universities.

Do you want to help to increase students' engagement and motivation? Serious games dynamize learners and provide interactive learning situations.

Smart Games Builder is automated games generator from Grenoble INP. The methodology of this workshop will guide you through serious game design.

Learning outcomes

• Learning about the potential of serious games to dynamize learners

• Providing interactive learning situations which trigger valuable soft and hard skills for your students

The activities – webinars, courses and training events – are run by pedagogical experts from the partner universities and are free of charge for the Unite! community. All “Unite! Teaching and Learning” activities are in English and take place online. Some of the activities will award credits.
