How to break the ordinary geometrical way of wave reflection with high efficiency
This dissertation studies wave manipulations by flat surfaces consisting of specifically arranged small inclusions. All the previously known ways of wave conversion do not allow us to reach full efficiency, and part of the energy is wasted. Here, new theoretical concepts for two different types of wave manipulation, which allow achieving unprecedented efficiency, are introduced. The results and ideas of this work bring exciting opportunities to enhance the performance of existing devices and create new ones.
