Join Aalto ARTS Career Evening and take part in group mentoring, join a salary and pricing workshop, learn about the future of AI and the visual arts, hear about Aalto University’s various services for students and alumni, and meet familiar faces from your study years. Anna Brotkin (b.1987), film and television screenwriter
Katja Hagelstam
Photographer, founder and CEO of Lokal
For over 30 years, Katja has worked as a photographer, photographing more than one
hundred thousand art objects in museums, mansions and private homes. She found that
it was the unique and handmade art and design objects that enhance and add value to
our everyday lives. She started Lokal with the purpose of creating a welcoming, homelike
space in which to showcase Finnish artists and designers; to make their work visible and
available both locally and internationally. Lokal has now had about 120 exhibitions within
its first 14 years. Lokal received the Design Deed of the Year award in 2015 and the
Finnish State Design Award 2017. Over the years she has also been invited to curate
numerous exhibitions for other institutions in Finland and abroad.
