EDI Lunch
Our aim with EDI lunches is to create a welcoming community space where we can explore various EDI topics together, fostering awareness and positive change within the school of ELEC.

- Establishing ELEC EDI Group as successor of ELEC EQU task force with broader representation of the academic staff and the departments.
- Introducing unisex toilets to all buildings managed by the School.
- Creating ELEC Handbook on promoting gender diversity in recruitment, which later was adopted in whole Aalto with a broader scope as Handbook on quality and diversity on recruitment.
- Dean's coffee event March 2021: Letters of recommendations from the EDI perspective
- Introducing ombudspersons for doctoral students.
- EDI themed events at the departments: unconscius bias in academia.
- Dean's coffee event May 2022: Towards a barrier-free community - understanding disabilities
- Deciding on actions after EDI related recommendations by the Scientific Advisory Board.
- Launching Women's Lunch for doctoral students. In 2023 we broaden the concept to include also gender minorities.
