Design integration and transformation network
Design integration and transformation network coordinates knowledge sharing across research focal areas regarding the interrelations between design and the organizational and institutional contexts in and/or for which it pursued.
The network is premised on respecting the diversity of underlying rationales, epistemic groundings and topical interests in research and practice that examines design’s societal and organisational relations and impacts. It features academics at the Department of Design and its neighbouring Aalto departments whose orientation aligns with design management and the integration of design in organisations, including: general design promotion and ’elevation’ at national industry and sectoral contexts; transformation and innovation pursued through design and rendering design more transformative organizationally and societally; interest in alternative ways of organizing design in/for society, design cultures and activism in changing the organization wherein design is being done; domain specific integration and transformation: sustainable design, user and customer centricity, circularity of economy.
