Miia Rinne

Miia Rinne (b.1973) is a Helsinki-based artist and teacher working with experimental film and video. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki in 2003 and the University of Art and Design, Helsinki in 1999. Since her study years, Rinne has interweaved analogical and digital technique into her work. She has explored a variety of approaches and techniques including painting directly onto celluloid film and mining video archives. Her films contain lots of movement and passing views, but in contrast also tiny microscopic dust particles, that were drifting around the studio and caught onto the film.
