Mycell
We are exploring novel building materials by harnessing the potential of fungal mycelium, paper waste, and side streams from pulp production. The research and practical trials are carried out in collaboration with the University of Helsinki (Prof. Tuula Jyske’s research group) and KU Leuven (Prof. Jan Wurm’s research group).
Test cabinets
We are testing the weather resistance of new circular-economy-based building materials on the Otaniemi campus. We designed modern test cabinets that fit the historical character of the campus, implemented by Aulis Lundell Oy. The tests include experimental structures made from recycled plastic and raw earth.
