Architecture Education in Finland 150 years: Aalto University Department of Architecture Yearbook 2020-2022
Writing the yearbook 2020-2022 of the Department of Architecture at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University was inspired by the Department's 150th anniversary.
The yearbook 2020-2022 introduces pandemic period student work, but also describes architectural education in Finland over a 150-year period between 1872-2022. The school was initially located on Aleksanterinkatu, the main street in Helsinki, and finally it moved to Otaniemi, Espoo in 1964. Currently the Department of Architecture is part of the Aalto University.
Listed are professors and doctoral dissertations through the ages, as well as a selection of 2020-2022 student works from all three majors.: architecture, landscape architecture and interior architecture. The book is published both in Finnish and English. The Finnish version of this book approaches the history of the department not only through historical overview but also through personal memories of the former students.
