Hoppu is professor of Business Law. He is Doctor of Science (Economics and Business Administration) and Licentiate of Laws. He is also Master of Laws with court training and Licenced Legal Councel.
Hoppu´s main research areas are contract and tort law. Hoppu is Chairman of The Board of Trading Practices in the Food Supply Chain (Finland Chamber of Commerce), Chairman of the Editorial Board of scientific journal Liikejuridiikka and Member of the Board of the Finnish Arbitration Association.
