Nordic Five Tech (N5T) Alliance

Since its establishment in 2006, the N5T Alliance members have been at the forefront of technological and scientific development, as well as the education of high-class engineers in the Nordic region. Together, the Alliance forms a powerhouse of knowledge and collaboration committed to shaping the future of engineering and innovation. 

The N5T Alliance is governed by a Committee and Presidents from each N5T university. A joint Secretariat coordinates and monitors all activities of the Alliance. The N5T Alliance operates under a rotating chair, and Aalto University has held the presidency during the years 2013-2014, 2018-2019, and currently in 2023-2024. 

The N5T Alliance offers a wide range of activities designed to empower its students and staff, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing. Those initiatives include: 

1. Joint master's programmes in various disciplines, such as Cold Climate Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering, Maritime Engineering, and Polymer Technology. 
2. Online PhD course database and joint PhD activities to facilitate interdisciplinary research and collaboration. 
3. Quality assurance and peer evaluation activities to ensure the highest standards in education and research. 
4. Platforms and forums for mutual learning and exchange of best practices. 
5. Network activities that stimulate new connections and collaboration in research and education. 
6. Collaboration with Student Unions to ensure a vibrant and engaging student experience.

Together, we build connections, inspire innovation, and learn from diverse perspectives.
