Business Generator -program

New participants are accepted into the programme twice a year, in early autumn and late winter.

Participant criteria

• A business idea based on research or deep tech
• Fits the ‘Tech for Sustainability’ theme (e.g. energy, health, human-centred living environments)
• A Finnish business ID less than three years old
• A scalable business model 
• At MVP or proof-of-concept stage

• A founding team with both technical and business backgrounds, with at least 2 full-time employees

Programme duration

Each company joins the programme for 12 months, and the membership can be renewed up to two times, for a total maximum of three years. Each renewal of membership is done by mutual agreement.

Pricing

We offer three service levels according to your needs. All levels include our full range of activities from accelerator services and your own startup advisor.

• Virtual customer (150 € + VAT / month). You can use our premises on a temporary basis.
• Hotspot customer (from 200 € + VAT / month). You get your own spot in our open-plan office.
• Own office room (depending on room size, starting from 280 € + VAT / month). You can work with your team using your own equipment together in a dedicated closed space.

Aalto Startup Development does not take any ownership in your company.

At the end of the membership, a success fee is calculated based on the startup’s turnover during the given period (around 1% per year, with a maximum fee of 6 000 € + VAT for the entire period).

Startups can improve their visibility through Aalto Innovation communication channels and get to know Aalto University's broad network from industry to academia and the startup community. We take part in a wide range of events such as Demo Day, Slush, Arctic15 and NORDEEP.

5. Resources and partnerships

Participants gain access to advanced tools that help accelerate the growth of their business. On offer are, among other things, industry data, pitch deck design support, legal advice and cloud and AI services.

6. Office space that suits your needs

The programme includes 24/7 access to office premises in A Grid, the heart of the university ecosystem, and to communal workspaces such as the Makerspace. You can make use of office and reception services in your daily operations. You can choose the office space option that best suits your needs, whether that is shared spaces with access to meeting rooms or a private room for your team.
