The archives hold a unique and valuable collection of some older printed materials and rare books that formed the teaching collection especially for architecture, visual culture and arts. The collection contains richly illustrated printed books and loose leaf albums from late 19th and early 20th centuries. The topics are wide ranged from architecture, history of art to ornamentation and typography.

The collection is a valuable source for anyone interested in illustration, graphic design, fashion and textiles as well as architecture. The special collections can be researched by appointment at the archives and the Visual Resources Centre.
