Computational modelling detects genes under selection and genes with time-dependent expression levels

Hande Topa, M.Sc., will defend the dissertation "Gaussian Process Modelling of Genome-wide High-throughput Sequencing Time Series" on Friday 14 December 2018 at 12 noon at the Aalto University School of Science, lecture hall T2, Konemiehentie 2, Espoo. The dissertation introduces new tools for modelling genome-wide high-throughput sequencing time series and ranking the genomic elements according to their temporal activity levels. The proposed methods are applied in detection of genetic variants under natural selection and in detection of genes having time-dependent expression levels.
