Knitting

In the Knitting Workshop, students and researchers can design and produce various knitted fabrics and products. Hand-operated knitting machines as well as an industrial flat-bed knitting machine are available for use.

The knitting workshop is a learning environment where students and researchers can develop their own knitting structures as well as create knitted products; for example, knitted clothing and interior textiles. Hand operated knitting machines as well as a computer-controlled industrial level knitting machine are available. It is also possible to receive guidance on hand knitting in the knitting workshop as well.

Facilities and equipment:

  • Stoll ADF 32W E7.2 (14 gg) industrial flat-bed knitting machine
  • Dubied knitting machines (3.5, 5, 8 and 12 gg)
  • Stoll JBO knitting machines (5, 8, 10 and 12 gg)
  • steam table
  • serger
  • chain stitcher
  • linking machine
  • equipment for thread-spooling and reinforcement

The Knitting Workshop is located in Väre G Floor (workshop floor). Working in the knitting workshop requires basic competence in knitting. These skills are taught specifically on basic knitting courses. The workshop master issues work authorisations.

mon 13:15-16:00
tue - fri 9:15-12:00 and 13:15-16:00

Persons with work authorisation can also work outside these hours.
