If you submit a test result that is valid during the application period in summer 2024, you are not required to take a new test when you progress to degree programmes even if your test result would expire before summer 2025.
The electronic test report needs to be nominated to Aalto University in the test administrator's service. When booking the test, you can choose Aalto University as the Recognising Organisation to make your score available to Aalto University. The department is "Admission Services".
If you have already taken the test, contact your test centre and request the test administrator to send your electronic test report to Aalto University.
IELTS test results are valid for two years from the date of the test.
Request your official score report to be sent from the test administrator to Aalto University reporting code 7364 (Score Report Recipient). Aalto University will verify the TOEFL results through the online verification system provided by ETS.
The scores can be accessed approximately 1-2 weeks after the delivery order has been made. The official results must be received electronically directly from the test administrator by the specified deadline.
TOEFL test results are valid for two years from the date of the test.
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE A) test scores must be sent via the test administrator’s electronic service. Log in to your PTE account and send your results to Aalto University in the test administrator’s service.

You must log into the language test administrator's service and share your test results to Aalto University. The results are verified electronically.
For C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency tests, electronically verifiable tests taken after 2005 are accepted.
SAT test result is not required for admission to University Pathway Finland programme, but it can be used to demonstrate language proficiency.
Please order your scores to be sent well before the deadline using Aalto University's SAT institutional code: 1700. The official SAT test result must be delivered directly by the test organiser to Aalto University. You must also attach a copy of the official SAT test result report to the application form.
Test results delivered after the deadline or solely by the applicant or test organiser are not accepted.
ACT test result is not required for admission to University Pathway Finland programme, but it can be used to demonstrate language proficiency at Aalto University.

The official ACT test result must be delivered directly by the test organiser to Aalto University. You must also attach a copy of the official ACT test result report to the application form.
Test results delivered after the deadline or solely by the applicant or test organiser are not accepted.
Please note that ACT test result is only accepted as a proof of English proficiency at Aalto University degree programme (Economics).
Other methods for demonstrating English language proficiency
Besides language tests, you can also demonstrate your language proficiency with IB Diploma, EB Diploma, RP/DIA Diploma, Finnish matriculation examination, National Certificate of Language Proficiency by Finnish National Board of Education (YKI), or previous studies or degree completed in English in specific countries (see list of accepted degrees and countries in the document below).
If you have one of these qualifications and wish to demonstrate your language proficiency with it, you are required to submit a copy of a certificate clearly stating your completed qualification/degree to your application form.

Please note that requirements listed in this document, such as minimum score requirements, only concern admissions to degree programmes in 2024. Students who are admitted to the University Pathway Finland programme in summer 2024 will progress to degree studies in autumn 2025. There might be changes in the language requirements for 2025.
Language requirements concerning progression to degree studies in 2025 will be updated in autumn 2024 and communicated to students admitted to the University Pathway Finland programme.
