Overview

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) related working life skills that are needed in hospitals and companies were identified. Based on this identification, a project work assignment was developed for the students to learn how to design, implement and test their own sequences for acquiring MRI images.

Master's level course.

How does this course promote work-life connections?

The course offers ways for collaboration between universities, hospitals and companies. Trainees aiming for hospital medicine physicists and personnel from medical technology companies participate the course. The students can have both medical and engineering background.

Teaching methods

The main objective was to develop the teaching methods aiming at incorporating working life aspects into learning. By doing the project work, not only do students learn an important working life skill, but they also comprehend the theory behind more thoroughly.
