Overview

The core of art education is ethical and responsible approach when addressing critical social issues, developing communities and promoting sustainability and equality with arts-based methods. The business side of art education is under-explored and not widely discussed. Art education addresses soft values in society, lifelong learning, technology and creativity in education that are important for building sustainable education in the future.

Bachelor's & Master's level course.

How does this course promote work-life connections?

The intensive course explores new ideas and approaches to art, education and entrepreneurship through practical design work, case examples and expert speakers. The students work together with their peers to find solutions for the development challenge provided by the City of Helsinki.

Teaching methods

Lectures, group discussions, multidisciplinary team work and practical design work with creative methods.

35 students (25 from Aalto University and 10 from EDDA Norden and Cirrus networks).
