Study at Aalto

I and many of my fellow students found work opportunities already during our studies. We had the chance to meet potential employers through various networking events. I feel like employers really value the skills Aalto University graduates have to offer.

I was originally drawn to the Master's Programme in Spatial Planning and Transportation Engineering because I’ve always been fascinated with transport systems. Now that I’ve graduated, I feel that the studies in the programme gave me a comprehensive view of transportation as a part of our living environment and society.

You don’t need to have a technical degree to succeed in the programme – the people I studied with came from a wide variety of backgrounds. My own bachelor’s degree is in mathematics, which often proved useful. My master’s thesis study, which I carried out for an international start-up, focused on fuzzy logic applications for traffic signal control.

Currently, I’m working in traffic management research and development at Aalto University and in a start-up company. I’m also going to pursue doctoral studies. In the future, I see myself working as an expert in the transportation sector.
