Doctoral Wellbeing Experience Survey

The Cross-Country Doctoral Experience survey was launched at Aalto University in November 2019. The survey focuses on doctoral students' well-being and factors contributing to it. It has been carried out across seven European countries.

The Cross-Country Doctoral Experience survey entails questions on for example well-being, life-work balance, interest, supervisory and researcher community support and research writing. The survey is a part of research-based development of doctoral education at the Aalto and its purpose is to obtain an overview of the current state and central development needs of the University’s doctoral education services.

The results will be utilized in developing doctoral education and services provided for the doctoral candidates in Aalto. The study is implemented by the research group that is specialized in studying doctoral education, the group is led by professor Kirsi Pyhältö from the University of Helsinki.
